So, if you are 12th level like Spender the Wizard, how cool are you really? What sort of respect and power should you expect to wield as a default in a Fictive Hack world based on your level?
Characters level much faster in Fictive Hack than in most systems. In part, that is because this game targets people who may not be able to make long term commitments or make many gaming sessions. It is nice to have a sense of progress even if you aren’t playing constantly.
Also, your character has some specific things to do. There is no harm in getting in there, going through some stories, and letting the character retire (or semi-retire) to live happily ever after. Then you can make that other character you’ve been eying…
Of course, if you want to settle in with one character and play for a long, long time that is an option too. Characters with fewer levels can still have a lot of fun adventuring with a couple wizened veterans, like Bilbo and the dwarves running around with an old, badass wizard.
