If you had the opportunity to design dwarven culture pretty much from the ground up, what would you do? How would you keep it familiar enough to scratch that dwarfy itch, but distinctive enough to be a really cool interpretation?
Here’s some of my answer. I’m toying with the idea of releasing a dwarf game for Fictive Hack set in the Breathing World before Axes and Anvils comes out. I know, it’s not very grown-up, but that whole exercise over there has gotten frustrating for me.
Rather than whinging about it, though, I give you some cool efforts of my own. Here are occupations in the stonach culture that shape and reflect their lifestyles and priorities.
